Why Adding a Product Link to Your TikTok Video Matters

• Adding a product link lets viewers tap through to the product page and buy instantly - turning views into sales in real time.

• Every purchase made through your TikTok Shop affiliate link earns you a commission on top of your standard video fee.

• A video without a product link generates views but no sales, and no commission. Always attach your affiliate link before posting.

Step A: Register as a TikTok Shop Affiliate Creator (First-Time Users Only)

If you're not yet registered as a TikTok Shop Affiliate Creator, complete this one-time setup before joining the CTS JP SHOP program.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old

• Have a minimum of 1,000 TikTok followers

• Have no history of violating TikTok's Community Guidelines

• Have never had your e-commerce eligibility revoked

Required Identity Verification Documents

• Government-issued ID - one of: Residence Card (Zairyu Card), Japanese Driver's License, or My Number Card

• Proof of address - one of: a utility bill, bank statement, or Certificate of Residence (Juminhyo), showing both your name and address

Registration Steps

1. Open the TikTok app and tap the menu icon in the top-right corner of your profile screen.

2. From the menu, tap "TikTok Studio."

3. Under "Monetization," tap "TikTok Shop for Creators."

4. If you meet all the eligibility requirements, tap "Apply."

5. Follow the identity verification prompts and upload your ID and proof of address.

6. Once your application is approved (typically within 1-3 business days), your Creator Center will be activated.

Step B: Accept the CTS JP SHOP Invitation and Add Products to Your Showcase

This step applies if you've already received a collaboration invitation from CTS JP SHOP.

1. Open Creator Center (inside TikTok Studio).

2. Go to the "Products" or "Collaborations" tab and check for an invitation from CTS JP SHOP.

3. Select the offered product(s) and tap "Add to Showcase" to accept the invitation.

4. You're done once the product appears in your profile's Showcase.

Step C: Add the Product Link When Posting Your Video (Most Important Step)

1. Record and edit your video as usual.

2. On the posting screen (where you write your caption), tap "Add Product" / "Add link."

3. Choose the relevant CTS JP SHOP product from your Showcase list, or search for it by name.

4. After selecting it, confirm that the product card (link icon) appears in the video preview.

5. If everything looks correct, tap "Post" to publish.

⚠️ If you forget to attach the product link, the video won't qualify for commission. Always confirm the link is showing before you post.

Step D: Add a Link to a Previously Posted Video (Optional)

You can still add a product link to a video up to 30 days after it was originally posted.

1. Open your profile and select the video you want to update.

2. Tap "Add Product" in the bottom-right corner of the video, or in the edit menu.

3. Select the relevant product and save your changes.

Pre-Posting Checklist

• Affiliate Creator registration and identity verification are complete

• The CTS JP SHOP product has been added to your Showcase

• A product link has been added on the video posting screen

• The link icon (product card) is visible in the preview

• Your caption and hashtags follow the required guidelines (if instructions were provided by your manager)
